one of my fastest

post-run Mel

The title of this post says it all. Tonight I did one of my fastest 3 km ever. I should really look up what is my fastest 3 km so I know for future reference, but for now I’m happy knowing this was a pretty good run.

The conditions were crazy tonight and not great. It was very humid and oh-so-windy. As I was running home I felt like I was running on the spot with the wind pushing me back. I’m just thankful it wasn’t raining because it very well could have been. Adelaide was pounded with heavy rain this afternoon (which my DH and I got caught out in) so I was expecting some more rain while running. I’m not a fan of running in the rain for a few reasons. It’s mainly because my headphones and phone get wet but also there was a time last year I accidentally went running in a storm and I could barely see in front of me. I can barely see without my glasses as it is. I’m sure I wouldn’t mind showers but I don’t like heavy rain.

  • Distance: 3 km
  • Time: 17:08
  • Max heart rate: 200 bpm
  • Average heart rate: 169 bpm
  • Pace: 5’43”

My legs were still really tired tonight and I’m getting concerned that I will never fully recover without having a rest day. I’m going to do some short 3 km runs for the next few days to see if I improve. I hope I do or else I need to seriously think on a plan.

Happy running – Melissa
